Ford Kuga victim's family questions why first investigation report kept secret

The family of Reshall Jimmy, a man killed who burnt to death when his Ford Kuga caught fire in 2015, held a press conference on Tuesday, a day after the motor company made an announcement to recall all Kuga 1.6l vehicles sold between December 2012 and February 2014..

EWN reporter, Gia Niccolaides, says the victim's family believes Ford SA showed no remorse nor took responsibility for what happened to Reshall Jimmy. They say right from the outset, Ford did not make any effort to contact them and they feel they had to chase Ford to conduct an investigation to find out the root cause of the fire.

The Family does not understand why Ford is keeping the first investigation report secret.

The Jimmy family say that they have substantial evidence to prove that the fire started from the front and not at the back as Ford suggested.

They wanted Ford to be accountable in some way so that they can find closure.

Gia Niccolaides, EWN reporter

A sincere and apologetic tone from Ford is really what they are asking for and they don't believe Ford's announcement yesterday was completely satisfactory.
