MPs to decide if Motsoeneng should testify before SABC inquiry

United Democratic Movement (UDM) has requested that SABC former COO Hlaudi Motsoeneng testify before Parliament's ad hoc committee probing the embattled public broadcaster.

The UDM says Motsoeneng should be heard in the interests of fairness and justice.

A leaked working document on the SABC inquiry reveals that the R264m SABC and MultiChoice deal signed under Motsoeneng's leadership was against the public mandate and contravened the Broadcasting Act.

The ad hoc committee is expected to meet on Thursday and Friday to put together its draft report.
