Samsung admits battery caused Galaxy Note 7 fires

Phone company Samsung has admitted that the design of its battery was responsible for a group of Galaxy Note 7 smartphones bursting into flames.

Samsung also announced they will not be launching the Samsung S8 during the World Mobile Congress this year.

Samsung had to recall the smartphone, which was intended to compete with Apple's iPhone, after reports that the devices were catching fire.

World Wide Worx MD, Arthur Goldstuck, says the supplier should have picked out the faults before putting them into the market.

And obviously what that points to us that rushed the launch of that particular phone.

Apple is probably very pleased but they shouldn't be too loud because they have also had a a couple of disasters over the year because they themselves can be in a similar crisis when they push their developers too fast.

Samsung tried to push too much innovation, too quickly.
