24 January 2017 1:45 PM
The Public Enterprises minister said she is concerned about the impact the power shut offs would have on local business.

EWN reporter Gia Niccolaides says Public Enterprises Minister Lynne Brown was part of the briefing by Eskom on the state of the electricity system at Eskom's headquarters.

According to Noccolaides, Minister Brown asked Eskom to delay cutting off municipalities who still owe money saying she is concerned about the impact it would have on the businesses and residents in those areas.

The Minister also pledged her support to Eskom saying they are fostering critical debates on important issues like nuclear power and working on a sustainable tariff system.
