Joburg Water spokesperson, Hilgard Matthews, has urged residents not to waste water after it rains.
Matthews says residents must comply with the restrictions until the Department of Water and Sanitation's review in May.
As a City we are not doing good in terms of saving water. Last week we regressed to 10% water save, where we should be at 10%.— Hilgard Matthews, Joburg Water spokesperson
Matthews responded on the Business Day report that water quality is deteriorating in some of the municipalities, after Xolani Gwala raised the issue in his daily comment.
Matthews says the City of Johannesburg offers quality water to its residents.
Our percentage is about 99% in terms of quality.— Hilgard Matthews, Joburg Water spokesperson
We have 500 samples that we take per month across the City.— Hilgard Matthews, Joburg Water spokesperson
