Rainbow Chicken shedding 1350 jobs

SA Poultry Association CEO, Kevin Lovell, says Rainbow Chicken is selling two-thirds of the farms that used to supply the abattoir where 1350 workers are being axed.

Lovell says cheap imports from the European Union have affected the poultry industry badly forcing it to retrench some workers.

They have been through a rough time for a good number of years. And they are moving from rough to a crisis now.
