Higher Education DG says sufficient financial aid available for NSFA in 2017

Higher Education Minister Blade Nzimande says he is confident about the prospects of the academic year and that the fees crisis will reach a resolution soon.

Department Director-General Gwebinkundla Qonde says tertiary institutions are public assets which should be preserved, despite student protests.

Qonde says NSFAS will pay an advance to all institutions to help ease the registration process for NSFAS-qualifying students and in the face of fee adjustment.
