Mini mayor explains Cape's Level 3B water restrictions

Despite some rain, the dam level recovery rate may go beyond three years according to the National Department of Water and Sanitation.

Councillor Xanthea Limberg told Kieno Kammies that Western Cape's 6 major dams are sitting on 40.4% currently.

The largest dam being Theewaterskloof, sitting at 35%... so we need to continue to save water and implement tougher water saving measures.

Councillor Xanthea Limberg, mini mayor Cape Town City Council

New restrictions for potable water include no washing of vehicles, boats, and buses.

No use of hosepipes and only buckets and watering cans allowed.

Pools need to be covered throughout the day with covers.
