Joburg Councillor Tim Truluck on efforts to curb illegal dumping

117 Ward Councillor Tim Truluck explains that illegal dumping cost the City Of Johannesburg millions of rands to clear.

City officials are exploring alternative ways in which to prevent illegal dumping.

Truluck says his ward (which includes Victory Park, Parkhurst, Parktown and other surrounding suburbs) has been targeted by trucks dumping waste illegally.

Ward 117 explains that city official have temporarily introduced berms (waist-high heaps of earth) to hinder truck drivers from accessing and dumping waste in green spaces.

He differentiates between the impact of garden rubble and builders rubble which is dumped along roads and pavements.
