Joburg Water spokesman, Hilgard Matthews, has confirmed that reduced outflow from reservoirs to certain parts of the City has begun. Mathews said consumer are returning to "old habits" as far as using water conservatively is concerned.
High lying areas will notice a drop in the water pressure. We will ensure some level of pressure remains in the system.

Soweto central, Midrand, Sandton and Randburg are a few of the reservoirs we're closing.

Mathews said while consumers were saving between 40 to 50 percent every week, this number regressed to 10 percent last week.
