Balding can be a complex for many ageing men, but it doesn't have to be.
A research study found that bald men appear to be more dominant, masculine, confident and stronger.
Afternoon presenter Azania Mosaka asked 702 listeners to share their relationship with their hair and experiences of balding.
These are some of the responses:
I'm balding and loving it. It makes me look distinguished— Benedict, caller
I started losing my hair and I embraced the whole thing. I'm working my chiskop and I love it. It's about your mindset and self-image. Hair doesn't make you, but if you've got it wear it the way you want.— Dumisani, caller
The issue with balding is that it's linked to men losing their testosterone. The immediate fear is that you are losing your man hood, which isn't true. I started losing my hair at 20 and have never had any problems.— Mpho, caller
Seeing a black man with hair doesn't do it for me.— Boitumelo, caller
