DRC opposition leader Etienne Tshisekedi dies

Leader of opposition party, Democracy and Social Progress (UDPS) in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Etienne Tshisekedi, has died aged 84.

Tshisekedi was a key role player in DRC's ongoing negotiations to end the country’s year-long political crisis as President Joseph Kabila refuses to leave office.
