Inquiry: Phiyega avoided responsibility for Marikana massacre, should be fired

Parliament's police portfolio committee have voted for the Claassen Board of Inquiry to be declassified.

The inquiry set up after police shot and killed 34 miners in August 2012 says suspended national police commissioner, Riah Phiyega, should be fired.

It also found that the 34 miners might not have died if Phiyega had paid attention to details of the police’s plan to act against them.
