Democratic Alliance (DA) has laid charges against former Gauteng Health MEC Qedani Mahlangu for the 94 deaths of psychiatric patients.
They were moved from the care of Life Esidimeni Hospital to various organisations that were no properly licensed.
The two charges are culpable homicide and contraventions of the Mental Health Care & National Health Act.
Yesterday African National Congress Youth League (ANCYL) in Gauteng and Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) also laid charges against Mahlangu and Premier David Makhuru.

According to EWN reporter, Ziyanda Ngcobo, the office of the premier has set up task team to plan the transfer of patients that are still in the NGOs in question.
