SA Health Professions Council says medical aid schemes should be abolished because they cannot co-exist with the government’s proposed National Health Insurance (NHI) scheme.
The council president, Dr Kgosi Letlap, says medical aid schemes are a crime against humanity and should be abolished.
He says those who have means should not separate themselves 'under this superior context that we pay tax'.
