A concerned farmer in rural Limpopo says he is concerned that as rural farmers they may not get assistance from government to eradicate the fall armyworm.
He says he spotted a worm on his maize crops weeks ago and could not find a pesticide to kill them.
As rural farmers we are ignored by the Department of Agriculture. We farm on a very low scale.— Willie, Limpopo farmer
I have seen it with my neighbour. We are four farmers farming next to each other. It has affected us so badly.— Willie, Limpopo farmer

The crop-eating fall armyworm has been detected for the first time in South Africa.
