Opinion: Deployment of soldiers at Sona overshadows progress

702 Breakfast host, Xolani Gwala says President Jacob Zuma's decision to deploy the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) during his State of the Nation Address (Sona) sends a negative message about accessibility of Parliament.

Gwala says this announcement has overshadowed some progress done by government as Zuma launched Invest SA- One Stop Shop during his meeting with business leaders, labour and key government officials this week.

Invest SA will provide a one-stop shop service to investors, offering investment promotion, facilitation and after care.

Gwala says this initiative symbolises a reasonable working relationship between government and business.

And that's what we have been calling for. We understand that South Africa's problem cannot be solved by government alone, and business alone.

Xolani Gwala, 702 Breakfast host

But all of these good things are overshadowed by negative announcements that are coming through around what's going on in Parliament.
