Acting Parliamentary spokesperson, Manelisa Wolela, says it seems like someone in the gallery dropped a certain powder which triggered sneezing and coughing when Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) members were forcefully removed.
Wolela says they have set up an investigation to establish who was responsible for this.
He could not say whether it was a pepper spray used by police to disperse crowds when scenes of violence erupted.

He says presiding officers were very patient when some Members of Parliament were disrupting proceedings.
