TUT Pretoria campus shuts down after fire outbreaks amid protests

Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) spokesperson, Willa de Ruyter, says they have cancelled academic activities today following protest action and fire outbreaks that were reported last night.

De Ruyter says there has been ongoing engagement with elected student leadership but cannot confirm whether it is related to last night's fires.

She says the university has launched an investigation.
