Investigation against acting National Police Commissioner Khomotso Phahlane was relaunched when the Independent Police Investigative Directorate (Ipid) Robert McBride went back to his position after he was illegally suspended by Police Minister Nathi Nhleko.
Phahlane denies corruption allegations against him put forward by private investigator Paul O'Sullivan.
Who is telling the truth?
Robert McBride and Khomotso Phahlane can't both be right. Someone is lying.— Karima Brown, political analyst and Talk At Nine host
Police Minister and Robert McBride are not seeing eye-to-eye. The political person accountable for having to answer for this is involved. Police Minister has already chosen sides, and that indicates to me that what's at play here is politics not the upholding of the law.— Karima Brown, political analyst and Talk At Nine host
Will NPA act against Phahlane?
You can't ignore allegation that NPA is wielded by those in power to bring politically motivated prosecutions against people.— Karima Brown, political analyst and Talk At Nine host

Why has this particular team brought in from North West province with a clear history of having interventions in other high profile cases.— Barry Bateman, EWN reporter
