New tender graft evidence has surfaced at City Power says Mayor Mashaba

The City of Johannesburg has launched a forensic investigation into City Power tenders valued at billions of rands.

EWN Reporter Clement Manyathela talks about the latest developments.

Mashaba seems to suggest that he is not happy with the previous investigations that have been undertaken by the board and this is why he is instituting this investigation right now.

He believes there is new evidence, but we don't know what that new evidence is right now but we hoping to hear when the report from the investigators comes out.

Manyathela says in the briefing the City Power board welcomed the forensic investigation.

He says the allegations are that Mashaba is targetting those appointed by the ANC-led administration in Johannesburg but Mashaba has refuted this.

The board insists that any wrongdoing will be stamped out.
