Opinion: HIV infections inflicted by rape needs punitive action

The study has found that sexual violence plays a significant role in increasing number of HIV infections and depression.

Médecins sans Frontières (MSF) research conducted in Rustenburg has found that sexual violence plays a significant role in increasing number of HIV infections and depression.

The study found that 33% of women who suffered depression experienced rape or violence from their partners and 20% of HIV infections is caused by rape.

Xolani Gwala weighs on the issue during his comment after 7am news bulletin.

We can't accept that this is happening in our communities without anything being done.
