State of the Province Address #GPSONA2017

Gauteng Premier David Makhura to deliver his State of the Province Address

Today Gauteng Premier David Makhura delivers his State of the Province Address (Sopa) highlighting government’s programme of action and service delivery priorities for 2017.

This will be Makhura's first Sopa since his party the African National Congress (ANC) lost control of City of Johannesburg and City of Tshwane after local government elections last year.

The big issue for the Premier is of course education, That's his priority. He has also put a lot of emphasis on the township economy, industrialisation and manufacturing.

The other issue that we think he is going to be addressing is the question of xenophobia. The fight against drugs. We know that in Tshwane few marches are planned and there are fears that you might have locals up against foreign nationals. Premier expected to give some kind of political direction for Gauteng.
