The ANC NEC released a statement about an upcoming meeting to discuss policy documents which are then distributed to branches for discussion in the lead up to June.
But this morning a number of ANC leaders told EWN reporter Clement Manyathela that they planned to use this meeting to bring up the position of Pravin Gordhan as finance minister.

This morning, Jackson Mthembu took to social media showing his support for Gordhan in the ministry tweeting: "Min. Pravin Ghordan delivers his budget speech this coming Wednesday . He is a capable minister worthy of the position he holds.
Grootes referred to Aubrey Matshiqi's comments earlier on the Midday report that there are two opposing forces and neither are sure they can have their way or prevent the ANC being irreparably damaged if Gordhan was fired.
