Dreams do come true: Grandpa gets to ride a tar paver

Last week, on Valentines Day, Tim Atwell, a 67 year old grandfather managed to finally realise a dream of his – one that had been unfulfilled for 61 years.

Back in 1955, he first laid eyes on a giant steaming machine moving slowly forward as it converted a messy mass of bitumen into a smooth strip of asphalt behind it for cars to drive on.

Ever since then, he has longed to drive what he dubbed as a kid a 'tar-putter'. Thanks to his daughter, Emma, who wrote to Power Construction, outlining how they could help make his dream come true, Tim's life long dream became reality.

Take a listen to this interview and be inspired to make someone's dream come true:
