The recent rains have brought much needed relief to drought-stricken Gauteng, the Department Of Water and Sanitation (DWS) announced.
Department spokesperson Sputnik Ratau says Vaal Dam level rose from approximately 64% on Monday to 72% on Wednesday.

He says despite the increase, more rain is needed as the province approaches the dry winter season.
