Social media has become a whole universe on it's own, it's almost like you have no life if you're not on at least one of the many platforms. a study out of the University of Sussex in the UK says "multitasking shrinks the brain". If you're on Instagram as you're reading this and drafting a tweet, you may want to stop.
Fact is when you're using some of these social media tools you don;t necessarily need to recall or remember certain things, like phone numbers on your cellphone. Beyond that, have you noticed any changes within yourself? Are there signs that your brain could actually be shrinking and are you a little forgetful and pay less attention to detail and that sort of thing?
Share your social media multitasking experiences and how they have affected your mind, your attention span and anything else?
It surely goes to reason that when you focus on one thing, like learning an instrument the brain works at optimal because it is focusing on one thing but as soon as you add more things surely the brain has to also divide itself.
How is your concentration span when you're tweeting, posting something on Instagram and being on Google Plus and Whats App while posting stories on Facebook? even writing all of that took a bit of strain.
