Nokia unveils new and improved 3310 with fresh mobile features

Nokia's iconic 3310 was relaunched on Sunday with new features, more than a decade after it was phased out.

The new version will have Opera Mini web-browsing, a 2 megapixel camera, micro SD slot, radio and MP3 player, 16 MB storage and a range of funky colours.

The 3310 has 22 hours talk time, up 10 times more than the original phone, but still has classic features such as the Snake II game.

The new iconic 3310 was unveiled at the Mobile World Congress (MWC), the world’s biggest phone show, explains tech expert Aki Anastasiou.

Many of 2017’s most high-profile handsets, tablets and smartwatches are likely to be announced over the course of the show - but the most anticipated reveal so far has been the Nokia 3310.

Amid all the new mobile technologies and moves towards "ultra-sophistication", Anastasiou says everyone is excited about the return of the Nokia 3310.

Phones today are like chocolate bars and there are a few of them that focus on differentiating themselves.

Anastasiou says the new 3310 will be popular because of the nostalgia associated with the device, and not necessarily for its smart technology.

He predicts that the device will be used a durable secondary phone used only when smart phones fail users.

It's going to be a spare phone, and it's going to be something like £49.
