Newly elected Unisa chancellor Thabo Mbeki says citizens must never forget how neighbouring African countries assisted South Africans during the apartheid era.

Mbeki raised grave concerns over recent xenophobic attacks, during his inauguration at Unisa’s main campus in Pretoria.
The former president has warned that none of the country’s problems will be solved by attacking immigrants, reports EWN's Clement Manyathela.
He says though the country faces socio-economic challenges, none of them will be resolved by attacking migrants.— Clement Manyathela, EWN reporter
Mbeki says attacking migrants will never solve challenges facing the country and has urged police to investigate criminal activities reported to them by communities.
