EWN's Pelane Phakgadi describes the scene as chaotic with multiple emergency services present at the scene.
The fire brigade is here. The emergency services are here.— Pelane Phakgadi, EWN reporter
Phakgadi reports that the slab on the fifth floor near the main entrance was said to be under construction.
It's understood that some injuries have been reported but no causalities have been identified as yet.
An eyewitness says that the ceiling caved in towards the front entrance of the hospital.
The front entrance collapsed. I think they were busy with construction there. A huge portion of the entrance collapsed. There was lots of rubble.— Shannon, caller
Another eyewitness says medical personnel are waiting on the scene as workmen dig through the rubble to establish if anyone is trapped.
