Motorists and cyclists must be more tolerant of each other on the roads

There are rising concerns of motorcyclists who disobey the rules of the road in the heavy morning traffic, jumping red robots, lane splitting and other dangerous behavior.

Andy Rice, motorbike instructor and expert says motorists and motorcyclists need to be more tolerant towards each other.

He says everyone is in a hurry to get to their destinations in the morning and that might lead to an element of recklessness.

I don't believe that the cyclist that is speeding in between cars in traffic will arrive a minute earlier than they would have if they took their time going through traffic.

Andy Rice, Bike instructor and general bike expert

We are all to blame, we all need to slow down and keep the pace of the traffic... lane splitting is legal, it is a privilege, not a right.

Andy Rice, Bike instructor and general bike expert

Rice says we should not leave it up to traffic police only. Citizens need to take responsibility for their own and other's behaviour on the roads.
