ConCourt wants Bathabile Dlamini to reveal full details on new CPS contract

The Constitutional Court has rejected Social Development Minister Bathabile Dlamini's decision to withdraw her department's application to explain the progress in appointing a new service provider to pay social grants.

Cash Paymaster Services (CPS) and South Africa Social Security Agency (Sassa) have reached an agreement, but no deal has been signed yet.

The court has given the minister five days to explain details of the new contract and provide clarity on when she first became aware that Sassa would not be able to pay out grants when its contract with CPS ends.
