ANC proposes reducing its national executive committee

The African National Congress (ANC) has proposed reducing the number of leaders on its national executive committee.

The party also wants only 65% of NEC members deployed in Cabinet.

The party is arguing that a lot of its talented members must remain in party structures, both at provincial and national level.

Karima Brown, political analyst and Talk At Nine host

This is gonna be interesting because historically most of the NEC found itself in government senior positions. This relationship between party and state is going to be interesting going forward.
