LISTEN: Sars and Judge Dennis Davis battle it out

Judge Dennis Davis, chair at Davis Tax Committee denied allegations that he is undermining Sars leadership and “unashamedly” misleading the public by claiming the revenue service is at risk of imploding.

Davis says what he said in his speech was that perceptions created by newspaper reports about Sars were not good and creates difficulty for tax collections.

Davis was speaking at a conference arranged by the Alternative Information Development Centre on tax evasion and illicit financial flows in Cape Town over the weekend.

I have not made any criticism of Sars as an institution in my speech.
