EWN's Dr Jack & Curtis illustrate how blown away cyclists were on Sunday before the race was cancelled due to high winds.
For the first time in history, organisers of the 40th Cape Argus Cycle tour had to cancel the race due to unforeseen circumstances.
The race was initially shortened to 78 km due to damage to certain sections of the route as well as fears of protests that broke out on Saturday night.
However, on Sunday morning after some of the race groups had started in extremely high winds on the foreshore, a decision was made to cancel the event altogether.
It was a tough decision say organisers.
