Imizamo Yethu residents to rebuild their shacks after fire

The City of Cape Town says 3 500 structures were destroyed leaving 15 000 people affected after the fires in the ImizamoYethu informal settlement near Hout Bay.

Three people were killed by fires that started on Saturday morning.

Spokesperson for City of Cape Town Disaster Risk Management Centre, Lauren Rodrigues, says shacks will be rebuilt and rescue operations are currently underway.
