'Nazir Alli has a perjury charge hanging over him'

The Organisation Undoing Tax Abuse (Outa) has raised concerns about the appointment of former South African National Road Agency Limited (Sanral) boss Nazir Alli as Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (Prasa)’s interim board chairperson.

Outa chairperson, Wayne Duvenage, says they cannot understand why Transport Minister Dipuo Peters would appoint Alli, who has a 'perjury charge hanging over him'.

The Western Cape court case on the e-toll decision was a big failure for Nazir Alli, again under his watch, his whole plan to introduce a similar e-toll down there was thrown out of court.

one of the big matters around that is that we have raised a perjury charge against him, his misleading information around the approval process.
