UK parliament green lights Brexit Bill

The UK's parliament has formerly passed all the legislation needed to trigger Article 50 which will begin negotiations to leave the European Union.

EWN UK Correspondent, Gavin Grey says the bill is expected to receive the formality of royal assent on Wednesday and this means that Prime Minister Theresa May could push the go button whenever she wants.

Grey says Britain could be initiating the withdrawal from the European Union by as early as the last week of March.

However, the Scottish National Party says they want to hold a second independence referendum to decide whether to break away from the United Kingdom and become an independent country.

According to Grey, the interesting thing is that the British Prime Minister has to give her permission for a referendum to be held.
