New Pikitup boss promises micro approach to a clean Joburg

Mayoral committee member for environment and infrastructure services for the City of Johannesburg, Nico de Jager, announced on Thursday that the new managing director for Pikitup has been appointed.

Pikitup has been without a boss for the past six months.

Lungile Dlamini, newly-appointed Pikitup managing director, says the new strategy he will be working on will enable them to improve the service delivery performance culture within the City.

As the acting managing director for the past six months, I had a privilege of working with the board and management to look at the new business model... We are going to have a micro approach in dealing with cleanliness within the City instead of having a one size fits all.

Dlamini will be taking up a post previously held to Amanda Nair, who was fired in September 2016 by the Pikitup board.

Dlamini has been acting as managing director for the past six months.
