Bespoke uniform manufacturer, Isiyalu, leaves its stamp

Business Accelerator finalist Isiyalu Manufacturing and Retail makes bespoke personal protective equipment (PPE) clothing.

Isiyalu produces customised clothing across a range of categories, including corporate uniforms, protective clothing, sportswear, and specialised gym cycling, aerobics, gymnastics and swimwear.

Isiyalu co-founder William Dhlongolo says that it has been a long journey of personal struggles that led him to his business.

The business began with small jobs sewing and mending clothing items, Dhlongolo explains.

I started registering the company in 2006. It started to grow, catering for small customers.

He says the enterprise went from employing 8 people to 45 and will soon launch a branded retail store in Southgate.

Despite family loses, Isiyalu has manged to grow, with the help of enterprise development initiatives.

Business growth specialist Pavlo Phitidis advises that Isiyalu should find new clients and focus on direct marketing techniques to expand.
