Presenter Redi Tlhabi says she believes that the burglary at Chief Justice Mogoeng Mogoeng’s offices was not a random act of criminality.
Tlhabi claims that the brazen break-in was an orchestrated crime, intended to send a message to Mogoeng.
I think it was a targeted operation meant to send a message or a warning.— Redi Tlhabi, 702's Afternoon Drive presenter
The Afternoon Drive presenter says the Chief Justice's offices symbolises a citadel of protection.
On Saturday, thieves broke into the Midrand offices and made off with 15 computers containing important and sensitive information.
15 computers with information about judges were taken from the second floor, but other computers closer to the office’s entrance were left behind.
With an investigation underway, authorities have declined to speculate on the motive for the theft.
