Female powered R&G Logistics keeps on trucking

Enter your business in the Nedbank Business Accelerator Campaign with 702 today.

Gladys Ncube has a little Willie Nelson spirit in her, in that she also cannot wait to get ‘on the road again’.

An accountant by profession, she says that undertaking a regular delivery of tapes to the SABC for a previous employer led to her falling in love with the transport Industry.

Always passionate about deliveries, she provides clients with the best logistical road solutions in the country via her business, R&G Logistics.

I love challenging stereotypes in what is traditionally a male-dominated industry. R&G services many sectors, including agriculture, staging, manufacturing, mining and engineering, and deliver a local and cross-border transport service.

Gladys Ncube, R&G Logistics

Our company provides comprehensive and integrated professional road freight services, meaning we oversee the client’s entire operation transport and supply chain operation, keeping them updated on cargo whereabouts and delivering quickly to the right place.

Gladys Ncube, R&G Logistics

Gladys says that what sets R&G apart is that “we listen, we solve, we deliver and we do so with clarity, efficiency and speed.”

She adds that being a woman-owned and managed business does sometimes provide a competitive edge and opens doors.

But obtaining the contract always comes as a result of the business being qualified and capable of delivering good service.

Looking ahead, we obviously want to sign more contracts. But what would really give us a massive boost would be the funds to purchase a 5 000m² yard, situated in a secure truck park with a diesel depot and driver convenience centre.

Gladys Ncube, R&G Logistics

We also need funds to improve our warehouse for export packing and loading, and of course to improve and increase our vehicle fleet.
