Spur tightens its belt as 'two for the price of one' Monday burger special ends

Spur has announced the popular Monday burger special, two burgers for the price of one, will be no more come month end.

The Monday Buy One Get One Free burger special will be replaced by a burger for R50, and a sauce at a discounted price.

Pierre van Tonder CEO of Spur, says the food inflation played a bigger role in them making this decision. 'We simply could not afford it', he says.

Van Tonder says the restaurant will be coming up with more exciting specials to keep their customers happy.

It was a very heavy decision that we had to make. But at the end of the day our franchisee affordability and for them to stay in business is critical as well.

Pierre van Tonder CEO of Spur

Our strategy is very clear. We have taken out one or two specials in order to maintain our pricing so that our customers could still get that value which they have known for years.

Pierre van Tonder CEO of Spur

According to van Tonder, the restaurant will be coming up with some new items on the menu which will be launched in two months time.
