Kathrada honoured in inter-faith prayer meeting

The Ahmed Kathrada Foundation has held an interfaith prayer meeting on behalf of the anti-apartheid stalwart.

The event was held at Lileasleaf Farm, where Rivonia Trialists were arrested.

Humanitarian and Environmental activist Catherine Constantinides was in attendance.

Constantinides says the prayer meeting was not a morbid affair, but a celebration of his life and contribution.

The 87-year-old was admitted to hospital earlier this month for surgery to remove a blood clot on his brain.

It was such a beautiful time spent to really acknowledge not only a great hero of our country but also to reflect on an important day in our history and that is Human Rights Day.
