Spur releases CCTV footage of man grabbing woman's child

JOHANNESBURG - Spur has released CCTV footage showing a white man who threatened a black woman grabbing the Johannesburg mother's child by the arm.

The Spur franchise at The Glen - where the incident happened - has released CCTV footage confirming Lebohang Mabuya's version of events that the man had threatened to hit her after grabbing her son by his hand.

The incident was captured on video by another person in the restaurant and it's been widely circulated on social media, prompting calls for action.

The man in question allegedly has a track record of bullying.

Spur CEO Pierre van Tonder says the woman has met with management who apologised to her.

“She had a very good discussion with our director in Johannesburg and at this stage she is not going to be pursuing any civil action against the individual and she is moving on.”
