Fake numbers, addresses for Chief Justice break-in suspects exposed

A News24 investigation has revealed that the employment histories, telephone numbers and residential addresses of those suspected of breaking into the Chief Justice's office are all fake.

Listen Pieter, it sounds like a scene from some movie or a book. It sounds like made up stuff.

Redi Thlabi, Host, Afternoon Drive

Pieter-Louis Myburgh News24 investigative reporter, says that the break-in raised suspicion from the onset, with suggestions that it looked like the work of intelligent cooperatives or somebody from the inside.

We just decided to have a bit of a look into the background of these guys and it surely does look very spooky, there's not much to go in terms of background and employment history.

Pieter-Louis Myburgh investigative reporter, News24

Myburgh says the initial speculation behind the break-in is what lead to the investigation and we need to know about these suspects and their possible ties to the state security office.

Normal people don't have these gaping holes in their history in terms of employment.

Pieter-Louis Myburgh investigative reporter, News24

Fifteen computers were stolen containing info about the Chief Justice, Judges and courts.
