Eskom board hid Dentons report to protect CEO - investigative journo
Financial Mail deputy editor, Sikhonathi Mantshantsha, says it is "absolute nonsense and rubbish" that Eskom acting CEO, Matshela Koko, did not know that his stepdaughter scored contracts worth R1 billion for her company from the parastatal.
Sunday Times reported that 26-year-old Koketso Choma was the director of Impulse International when it was awarded contracts worth R1 billion by Eskom.
The acting CEO has claimed that he did not know about the contracts. This, despite Sunday Times reporting that he was living in the same house with his stepdaughter at the time.
Eskom announced that its board and the Public Enterprises Ministry will conduct an inquiry into Koko's involvement.
Mantshantsha says the board also knew about these allegations from the Dentons' report back in 2015.
They made a formal board resolution in 2015 to destroy the evidence.Sikhonathi Mantshantsha, Financial Mail deputy editor
Dr Ngubane is exactly on that board to perpetuate exactly what he did at SABC. Look at SABC now.Sikhonathi Mantshantsha, Financial Mail deputy editor
