'President Zuma is up to no good'

Former Congress of South African Trade Unions (Cosatu) secretary general, Zwelinzima Vavi, says South Africa needs a new strong trade union to resist government's corrupt dealings.

Vavi, who is now the convener of the new trade union federation, South African Federation of Trade Unions, says President Jacob Zuma is controlled by the Gupta family.

Zuma has ordered Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan to come back home and cancel an international investment promotion roadshow starting on Tuesday in London.

South Africa needs an independent labour movement that can work with the civil society and not label them as counter revolutionaries or stooges of the work and all of that rubbish that Mahlobo usually talk about on our television.
