UCT MBA alumnus uses Cape Epic to pay it forward

UCT Graduate School of Business (GSB) alumnus Mervyn Christoffels has used the ABSA Cape Epic race as a platform to establish a scholarship for financially disadvantaged students wanting to obtain an MBA.

Christoffels explains that he finished his own MBA in 2006, sponsored by a benefactor, and wants to pay it forward for other students with great potential.

He credits his studies at the GSB for transforming his life and career, shaping his thinking and empowering him to become a change agent.

It changed my life. It empowered my thinking, gave me a sense of purpose and confidence.

Mervyn Christoffels, UCT Graduate School of Business (GSB) alumnus

Christoffels has been riding socially for five years and says he hopes to pass on the initiative on to other GSB alumni.

He reflects on the grueling race and the physical challenges he experienced during the event on Sunday.

Visit the GSB website to learn more or donate to the Epic Scholarship.
