Zuma has informed SACP about his intention to remove Gordhan - analyst

Finance Minister and his deputy are expected to land on Tuesday morning after being ordered by Zuma to return from London.

Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan and his deputy Mcebisi Jonas are expected to land this morning after President Jacob Zuma ordered them to cancel a roadshow in London on Monday.

Political analyst and Talk At Nine host, Karima Brown, says leaders who attended a bilateral meeting between African National Congress (ANC) and South African Communist (SACP) which took place last night, have confirmed a Cabinet reshuffle.

I can confirm that people who were in the bilateral meeting have spoken to me and indicated that President Jacob Zuma has informed the South African Communist Party of his intention to remove Gordhan from the Cabinet.

According to reports Gordhan will be replaced by former Eskom CEO Brian Molefe.

In an interview with Xolani Gwala SACP secretary general, Blade Nzimande, said he cannot reveal whether Zuma said he will replace Gordhan during their bilateral meeting on Monday night.
